Smart Image Kit ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website at smartimagetoolkit.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our tools. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices. Our core principle: your files are yours, and we go out of our way to keep it that way.

We collect minimal information required to operate the Service:

• Files you process: Images and documents you upload are processed transiently. We do not store, retain, or access file contents beyond the duration of a single request. Files are discarded immediately after processing completes.
• Usage data: We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage metrics (e.g. page views, tool usage counts) to improve the Service. This data contains no personally identifiable information.
• Technical data: Standard server logs may capture IP addresses and request metadata for security and debugging purposes. These are not linked to your identity and are automatically purged.

We do not collect names, email addresses, or any other personal information unless you voluntarily contact us.

Files submitted to our server-side tools (such as Image Resizer, Image to PDF, and Image Upscaler) are:

• Processed in memory to produce the requested output
• Returned to you directly in the HTTP response
• Never written to persistent storage
• Never shared with third parties
• Automatically discarded when the request completes

Several tools (Background Remover) operate entirely in your browser using WebAssembly — these files never leave your device at all.

We use a single, functional cookie to remember your theme preference (light/dark mode). This cookie is stored locally on your device and contains no personal data.

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party analytics services that profile individual users.

Smart Image Kit uses the following third-party services:

• Vercel: Hosts the application infrastructure. Vercel may process IP addresses per their privacy policy at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
• imgly CDN (staticimgly.com): When you use the Background Remover, your browser downloads the AI model weights from the @imgly CDN. No image data is sent to this CDN — only static model files are downloaded.

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your data to any other outside parties.

All data in transit is protected by HTTPS/TLS encryption. Server-side file processing occurs in isolated, ephemeral request handlers. We follow security best practices and regularly review our infrastructure.

While no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, we take all reasonable precautions to protect the data involved in your requests.

Smart Image Kit is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
